Sport

I have a wide range of experience in sport photography and in 2015 I was awarded Lens Culture International Portrait Award and judged as one of the top 35 in the world for some of my sports photography. Having now photographed four Commonwealth Games for Team Scotland. In 2010 I was one of the official photographers for Scotland in Delhi, India; 2011 lead photographer for the Commonwealth Youths on the Isle of Man, my 3rd Commonwealth Games in my home country, Glasgow 2014, culminating in the Gold Coast, Australia in 2018. This involved 18 sports over 11 days is really exiting to be a part of and a challenge, which I loved.

Having to understand each sport, its rules, how its played, or timings and the best angles is something that comes from experience. This also involves knowing individual athletes form/background and gives a better chance of capturing that crucial moment.

London 2012 Official Team GB Paralympic Photographer. What an amazing games in our own country, a once in a lifetime opportunity and the highlight of my photography career so far.

As well as major international sporting events, I have also covered many domestic or series competitions and events, including UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, FINA Diving World Series and Edinburgh Marathon Festival.
Having been an international swimmer myself, I understand the pressures, excitement, highs and lows involved in sport, which I believe shows through in my sports photography.
